Applications Engineer

Lead Software Engineer

Applications Engineer:

We’re currently looking for a strong candidate to join our team as an Applications Engineer. 

The role would involve in-house working on customer projects in:

  • Process analysis
  • Process optimization
  • Alarm rationalization
  • Development of real-time Operating Envelope models of continuous, batch and/or multi-mode processes using our unique Operating Envelope methodology

As you become skilled in the methodology your role will expand to include teaching of individual modules in customer classes and eventually teaching whole classes. During quiet periods (we have them occasionally) you will assist product development with system testing of new software features and possibly with documentation. You will provide technical support and assistance to customers. You will also work with one of our senior Consultants, whilst aspiring to such a role for yourself in the future.

The right candidate would ideally be a chemical engineer with a PhD and some experience of working in process operations, or a closely related MSc holder with several years experience of working in process operation. Disciplines closely related to chemical engineering will also be considered.

In the future post-Covid world there may be occasional need to teach customer classes or perform short service projects on customer sites. You should hold a passport that in normal non-Covid times would allow you to travel easily.

The role requires some telephone and web-contact with Clients so impeccable spoken English is a must.

You must already have all necessary permissions to live and work in UK and should be living within reasonable daily commuting distance of Gerrards Cross postcode SL9 8UX.

Lead Software Engineer:

We are looking for an experienced lead software engineer, comfortable with interpreting requirements and designing and implementing solutions in a Microsoft C++ environment. The successful candidate is expected to have a graduate degree in Computer Science, Chemical Engineering or related fields and three or more years of experience in software development.

We are a technology company involved in visualization and control for the process industries and adding to our team. The position will straddle a number of traditional roles, so the applicant must be able to contribute in a number of areas, be flexible and self-managing.


  • Masters or Doctorate level degrees in Computer Science, Chemical Engineering or related fields, or comparable experience.
  • Three years of experience in software development
  • Programming in C++ under a Microsoft environment
  • Eligilbility to work for any UK employer
